Gorgeous, Stunning, Unique .... just a few words to describe Fenton Tower. Although set in a beautiful restful and rural location, Fenton Tower is still only twenty miles from the centre of Edinburgh. If you´re after seclusion and privacy, it is ideal as it is equipped with the latest security systems. And after all, you are staying in a fortified tower on a hilltop. What could be safer?

You can treat our 20 acres of private land as your own throughout your stay. Daydream by our secluded laich (a small Scottish lake), or just gaze out across the miles of surrounding farmland that ripples with ripening barley in the summer. From outside, you can admire the detail of Fenton Tower´s restoration from all angles. Using a team of architects, engineers and designers, this extraordinary project included installing Fenton´s first roof for 250 years and the return of spiral staircases, turrets, eleven fireplaces and a garret.

The warm pink harling on the exterior matches the original, and is created by combining local soil and ground sea shells. The fortified walls are up to eight feet thick in places, with narrow defensive windows on the ground floor. But the unusually large windows on the upper levels flood the rooms with natural light ­ some with a double or triple aspect - perfect for admiring the incredible views.

When did you last enjoy dinner sitting at a huge walnut refectory table in a vaulted chamber Dining Hall? At Fenton Tower, it is the norm. However, if you prefer you can take breakfast quietly at the smaller table or in your bedroom if it is too early for conversation.

The accommodation is spread across five elegant floors. All floors of Fenton Tower are reached by at least one, if not two spiral staircases. One goes from the vaulted ground floor right to the third floor while the other goes from the entrance hall to the garret. All meals are created in our state-of-the-art kitchen.

When you stay at Fenton Tower the Manager and his staff are there to ensure that you have a memorable stay, where you can treat the castle as your own, and feel like "the King of the Castle".

Using the finest local produce, our chef will create superb meals, you can leave the menus to us, or simply tell us the sort of food you prefer. Either way, the chef will be only too pleased to create delicious and unusual dishes to be enjoyed in the Dining Hall or the privacy of your own room.
