Kinnettles Castle is a beautiful exclusive use property in the heart of Angus countryside and is a magnificent example of Victorian Scottish architecture. There is spacious and luxurious accommodation for up to 22 guests, 18 in the main house and a further 4 in the Gate Lodge. The property boasts a billiards room, games room, bar and tower sitting room alongside comfortable and welcoming reception rooms. Recently refurbished to the highest standards, the interior design is a contemporary statement in black and white with all the luxury standards and modern amenities, yet Kinnettles Castle retains all of its character.
Just 20 minutes from Dundee and 70 minutes from Edinburgh, the local area offers a wealth of things to do and activities. Guests can enjoy clay pigeon shooting within the grounds or alternatively can leave the estate to experience a variety of outdoor activities including shooting, horse riding, fly fishing, golf at nearby Carnoustie and St Andrews, motor racing at Knockhill, steeple chasing at Perth and international rugby at Murrayfield.
Castle Weddings & Celebrations
Castle Weddings are every girls dream and Kinnettles Castle offers everything you need for that perfect intimate fairytale wedding. The castle grounds also allow for larger weddings with the hire of a marquee in the grounds. The castles central location also make it an ideal venue for not just weddings, but for celebrations, anniversaries and family gatherings. Discreet corporate events and incentive trips can also be catered for at the castle.
For golf groups, the famous courses of Blairgowrie and Carnoustie Links are close by, and the famous St Andrews and Kingsbarns Golf Courses are only a mere 25 miles away by road.
The nearest town is Forfar, just 4 miles away, famous for Strathmore Springs mineral water. The ancient town is home to a vast amount of historical interest, dating back to the Roman Invasions, when a succession of Roman camps were established North of Forfar. The town also has numerous shops and a leisure centre nearby.
Angus Glens
Close to the Angus Glens, there are plenty of outdoor pursuits to entertain all guests at Kinnettles Castle, with the annual walking festival in the summer a favourite. There are five glens to explore, each with unique characteristics and besides the popular hillwalking there are plenty of activities on offer from game shooting and sailing to museums and cathedrals.
The village of Glamis is close by and is perhaps best known historically for its association with the William Shakespeare play MacBeth. It is a pretty village and is also known for the fairy-tale Glamis Castle, where Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother spent much of her childhood. The castle and grounds are open to visitors and offer a relaxing day out. |
