Brocket Hall
Welwyn, Hertfordshire, England
Brocket Hall is exceptional Regency stately home and country estate in Hertfordshire is one of the finest golf, conference centres and residential estates in England. Located only 45 minutes from Central London and conveniently placed for all international airports and with its own helipad, it is a haven for meetings and conferences and offers exceptional amenities, hospitality and accommodation.
This exclusive use ancestral home in Hertfordshire is set within the 543 acre country estate. This magnificent stately home - which regularly hosts prominent business meetings, social events and even political summits, two of the finest golf courses in the UK, a Michelin-starred restaurant known as Auberge du Lac and the renowned Palmerston Golf Academy where clinics have been specifically designed for the corporate community.
Exclusive Use Stately Home
This Exclusive Use Stately Home has recently celebrated its 250th anniversary and is the focal point of this most impressive of venues, can claim to have one of the most illustrious histories of any of the great houses of Britain. Home to two British prime ministers - Lord Melbourne and Lord Palmerston - it played host to George IV and witnessed the infamous Lady Caroline Lamb introduce the Waltz to England in its spectacular ballroom.
One thing that hasn't changed over the centuries is the warm welcome that Brocket Hall has always extended to its visitors and nowhere is this better demonstrated than at its fabulous house parties which feature full butler service, fine wine and cuisine served on the Prime Minister's table, which sits 54, and rarefied entertainment befitting of a more sophisticated and elegant era.
The Hall's spacious Boardroom can accommodate up to 150 delegates and is equipped to support the most sophisticated presentations, with air conditioning and 6 adjacent Syndicate Rooms available for breakaway groups or smaller meetings.
Corporate Golf
Brocket Hall's golf courses - the cornerstone of a thriving golf club - have been laid out in the stunning surroundings of parkland and ancient woodland and provide a distinct challenge for golfers. The Melbourne is the creation of design duo Peter Alliss and Clive Clark who have fashioned an outstanding golf course within a parkland terrain. Water is the distinguishing feature of the Melbourne course, together with difficult greens and supreme short holes which demand respect and precision throughout. A unique ferry ride across the water to reach the final green on the 18th hole completes the unforgettable experience.
The Broadwater Lake doesn't't come into play on the Donald Steel designed Palmerston course, instead there is bold bunkering to contend with and majestic avenues of ancient trees. This is the thinking golfer's course set in an impressive historic site. A massive 7,080 yards long, it has been likened to Woburn's Marquess course and has come to be regarded as one of the best inland courses in the country.
Over the last 10 years the Palmerston Golf Academy has successfully nurtured and developed the careers of many budding golf stars largely due to the exceptional facilities and comprehensive teaching programmes run by the PGA Professionals.
